The date is set!

The date is set for the birth of my second child. Cami will have a C-Section on 14 May 2009 at 8am. We are still hoping for a boy but we have been reviewing some girl names just in case. If it is a boy his name will be Emery Allen Bushey, named after Cami's grandfathers.

I'm really hoping for another boy!!!!

In Memory of the Fallen

Today is one of those days no one in law enforcement ever wants to be apart of. Along with 18,000 other people to I attended the funeral service for the four Oakland Police Officers that were killed in the line of duty on last saturday. Even though I did not know these officers personally, I felt some what of an obligation to attend their service. I hope that if anything happens to me in the line of duty I get the same respect that these officers are getting at this time.

We will always remember those that have fallen in the line of duty.

Lane Frost statue

When visiting Cheyenne you can't forget to pay your respects to one of the greatest rodeo cowboys ever, Lane Frost.

A Wyoming visit

Yesterday afternoon my family and I made the trip from the Bay Area to the greatest state in the Union, WYOMING. The plane ride was very peaceful even while traveling with a 20 month old little boy. He slept the entire 2 1/2 hour flight.
When we arrived in Denver we where meet by a nice cool breeze that felt as though it was about 48 degrees. It felt wonderful to be back in a climate that actually felt like winter temps.
On our way to Cheyenne my wife wanted to stop and have dinner at the Cracker Barrel (CB). She has been craving CB for the past several months, and there are not any CB's in the area that we are in.
Our time here in Cheyenne is a time for us to relax and forget about how stressful our life is in the Bay Area. We really have no plans and really don't care what we do or when we do it. We have taken at least a 3 hour nap each day we have been here.
Hopefully I will be able to comeback in October to get a big Mule Deer. I am really looking forward to getting away again and coming back to my little oasis I like to call WYOMING.

Played outside yesterday and now I am sick

Yesterday I shot in a rifle competition just outside Sacramento, CA. It was the Tactical Steel Match the the NorCal Practical Precision Rifle Club host every other month. The winds were a steady 15 mph with gusts up to 20 and the temp hovering around 50 degrees. Out of 25 shooters I finished #23. For whatever reason I was not able to hit a target to save my life. But I had a great time. My time on the range was even more special because my wife was there. It was a great way to spend valentines day with her.

And now today I am very miserable. My head hurts, nose is either stuffed up or running like a mad man, body aches and my throat is sore from all of the coughing I have been doing. So today I am taking it easy so I can get better for work tomorrow.
